The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft that went down soon after take-off was operating the flight 'AI 171' from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick.
The pilots of London-bound Air India flight AI-171 - which crashed 36 seconds after take-off from Ahmedabad - sent one last radio message to Air Traffic Control at 1.39 pm, the Aviation Ministry said Saturday afternoon.
Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed that the plane's black box was recovered around 5 pm on Friday. He said that decoding the black box would give an in-depth understanding of what transpired during and moments before the crash.
