The women members of the BJP leading the "Justice rally" from Madurai to Chennai were later detained by the police.

Party leader Khushbu Sundar, TN Mahila Morcha president Umarathi Rajan, BJP MLA Dr C Saraswathi, and scores of women members were detained in Chennai when they attempted to participate in the protest.
