App makers Meta Platforms Inc., Spotify Technology SA and Match Group Inc. are girding for a high-stakes political battle with the world’s two dominant smartphone platforms over who should take responsibility for verifying users’ ages.

The Meta AI app, built with the company’s Llama 4 AI system, includes a “discover” feed that lets users see how others are interacting with AI.

The artificial intelligence tool uses the fourth iteration of Meta’s Llama model, which Meta has touted as being more cost-efficient than competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini.
