With the latest move by Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers football program seems to signal a change in philosophy.

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney did enough on the recruiting trail, and recruiting in-house, to get the Tigers in the CFP conversation.

Clemson is not expected to sign any recruits on February's National Signing Day. Instead, Dabo Swinney is focused on the needs for next year's class.

Clemson football has added an ACC coaching veteran to its staff. Lonnie Galloway, who was most recently UNC’s wide receivers coach, has joined the Tigers as an offensive analyst, he announced on Thursday via X (formerly Twitter). Galloway is listed in the university directory as a “volunteer coach” for offense.

In addition to his pickups from the prep route, Swinney also dipped into the transfer portal to the greatest extent of his career and secured three players who will either make an instant impact or offer key depth in 2025. Four-star edge rusher Will Heldt is the most highly touted transfer to join the Tigers under Swinney's watch.
