The Rev. Al Sharpton says Andrew Cuomo should drop out of the race for New York City mayor.During an interview on MSNBC on Wednesday morning, Sharpton said Cuomo "should look at what is best for the city" and step aside so that Queens Assemblyman and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani can take on incumbent Eric Adams,

Mamdani, who declared victory the night of the June 24 primary, will face a general election field that includes incumbent Mayor Eric Adams as well as independent candidate Jim Walden and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is considering whether to keep his name on the NYC mayoral ballot this fall, despite losing the Democratic primary. Rev. Al Sharpton says he should remove it to allow a fair race between Zohran Mamdani and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams.
