Boston Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet had a close call Sunday when a liner skipped off his glove and nose on its way to second base for a groundout.

Pitching with no outs in the fourth inning, Garrett Crochet had Carlos Correa's 87 mph line drive clip him on the nose. That deflection off the nose was enough to knock the ball down for second baseman Kristian Campbell to make a play and throw out Correa at first.

The bullpen hasn't had much margin for error with the Red Sox's inconsistent offense and they've not handled late leads well recently.
