Ten Democrats joined with House Republicans on Thursday to censure Rep. Al Green for his protest during President Donald Trump’s address to Congress this week — a formal condemnation of the Texas Democrat’s actions.

The censure gave Democrats the kind of political black eye their leaders were hoping to avoid. Ten Democrats joined all Republicans in backing the resolution.

WASHINGTON — The Republican-controlled House on Thursday voted to censure Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, for disrupting President Donald Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday.
