Seven members of four families, including five children, lost their lives in two separate incidents of cloudburst and landslide in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Sunday, officials said.
A cloudburst has reportedly occurred in the forest area of Warnow in north Kashmir’s Lolab region. Initial reports suggest heavy water flow after rain in the area led to the incident. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operations of several trains following a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, disrupted services along the Jammu–Pathankot rail line.

At least 46 people died and more than 200 were missing following sudden, heavy rain in Indian Kashmir, officials said on Thursday, the second such disaster in the Himalayas in a little over a week.
The officials said the cloudburst hit Jod Ghati in Rajbagh area of the district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, snapping access to the village and causing some damage to land and property.
The district administration is closely watching the situation and has requested people to stay away from water bodies for their safety. On the other hand, the Indian Railways has regulated the operations of several trains following the cloudburst.
