Fastest on his GP24 debut in last November’s Barcelona test, Alex Marquez repeated the feat by ruling the timesheets at the end of the three-day Sepang MotoGP test. But Marquez wasn’t only quick over a single lap.

Marc Marquez completed a sprint simulation on the final day of MotoGP testing at Sepang, sending out a clear message to his rivals with his incredible pace. Riding the factory Ducati during the afternoon on Friday,

Marquez described his crash, which happened in braking for the slow-speed turn nine, as “typical”. “I had a typical crash on that turn nine that is the slowest corner on the circuit,” Marquez told MotoGP.com’s After the Flag show.

Alex Marquez led the way on the third and final day of the Sepang MotoGP test, as Ducati riders occupied four of the top five spots in the classification. Riding last year’s GP24, Gresini’s Marquez set a best time of 1m56.
