Hurricane Melissa, made landfall in Jamaica as a devastating Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph early Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 28, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Melissa has hit Cuba after leaving a trail of destruction in Jamaica, though the full extent of its impact remains unclear.
