Paul Finebaum reacts to Jeff Landry comments on Scott Woodward: 'Pretty well body-bagged him'
As word spread of Gov. Jeff Landry’s comments about LSU athletics director Scott Woodward, SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum reacted in real time. He said the remarks were something he had rarely, if ever, seen before.
During an appearance on ESPN's Get Up, Paul Finebaum was asked about LSU's decision to fire Kelly. He made a strong statement, saying Kelly not only lost on the field but also lost the support of the people in power and even the players in the locker room.
The head coach most often linked to the job is Lane Kiffin of the Ole Miss Rebels. However, Kiffin has also been considered for the LSU position. SEC Network's Paul Finebaum revaled on "The Matt Barrie Show" that LSU is a more appealing job, while Florida has become less attractive than it used to be.
But as Finebaum discussed Monday, LSU and Florida will have to go head to head for Kiffin, who’s guided Ole Miss to a 7-1 mark with four games to play. The College Football Playoff could be next for Kiffin, who might be in the middle of his best coaching job and team overall.
Paul Finebaum believes Lane Kiffin is the ideal replacement for Brian Kelly at LSU, explaining on ESPN’s Get Up why the Ole Miss coach should prefer the LSU job over Florida and Penn State amid both programs’ coaching searches.
The longtime SEC Network analyst broke down what led to LSU firing Brian Kelly over the weekend, and who the will pursue as a replacement.
Paul Finebaum believes Brian Kelly’s job at LSU is in serious jeopardy after a 49–25 loss to Texas A&M, saying it’s “DEFCON 1” in Baton Rouge. Kelly’s massive $52 million buyout could, however, complicate any immediate move.
