As we saw at the end of season 3, Ciri has spent all of her time in The Witcher season 4 with The Rats. However, she's struggled to settle into a routine with them, with both The Rats and Ciri just as distrusting as the other.
"The Witcher" became an instant hit with fans, as Cavill seemed to fit into the role of Geralt in a way that nobody could have imagined. The high fantasy series became a huge talking point in the first season, with many praising the adored actor in his portrayal of the beloved novel and video game character.
By the time the Season 4 finale “Baptism of Fire” arrives, that transformation is complete. Geralt realizes his childhood dream only to find it hollow. Ciri loses the last of her innocence. Yennefer stands among the ashes of Montecalvo, gathers what remains of a broken order, then walks into a storm to face the man who destroyed it.
Season 4 continues the sprawl that has made "The Witcher" feel less like a gritty fantasy slash-em-up and more like homework.
The Witcher season 4 has a total episode count of eight and was released on Netflix on October 30 at 1:00 AM Pacific/4:00 AM Eastern. In a change from the third season, all episodes have been released at once on Netflix. That means you can now binge the entire season from start to finish.
Starring Dolph Lundgren as a Witcher known as Brehen alongside the group of street-smart criminals known as The Rats, first introduced in The Witcher season 3, the 80-minute movie acts as both a prequel to The Witcher season 4 as well as briefly covering what happens next for Ciri.
Liam Hemsworth does a fine job taking over for Henry Cavill on The Witcher, but uneven writing makes season 4 the weakest entry in the franchise so far.
