Trump ordered California National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to violent demonstrations against immigration enforcement.

A federal judge ruled Thursday that President Trump illegally federalized the California National Guard in response to the Los Angeles protests and ordered that the force be returned to the control of Democratic Gov.

The National Guard remains in Los Angeles after an appeals court overturned a federal judge's ruling saying Donald Trump had to return control of the troops back over to Gavin Newsom. There will be a hearing next week.
