Vanderbilt baseball is heading to Louisville, Kentucky, for its first rivalry contest of the week in the annual "Battle of the Barrel" at Jim Patterson Stadium. Vanderbilt got on the board first with Rustan Rigdon scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning.

Week 12 in SEC baseball brought a shakeup in the power rankings as No. 1 Texas lost its first series of the season and was swept at Arkansas. For the Longhorns, setting the SEC wins record (26-3 by Vanderbilt in 2013) and becoming the third SEC team to win all 10 conference series is no longer on the table.
