Massachusetts could see hazy skies throughout the day Monday as wildfire smoke from Canada drifts into the Bay State. The smoke prompted National Weather Service forecasters to issue an Air Quality Alert blanketing the entire state, warning that the air may be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

An elevated flooding risk persists on Sunday for some parts of the Southeast as Alabama, Georgia and the Florida Panhandle brace for heavy rainfall.

The smoke is expected to remain over the northern and central Plains of the United States for the next couple of days, according to meteorologists.
