Angela Lin, a 29-year-old Google engineer, was killed by a falling tree branch while hiking the popular Tuolumne Grove trail at Yosemite National Park.

Back in August 2015, two high school students were asleep in a tent in the Upper Pines Campground when an oak limb fell, killing them both. And in 2012, a concessions worker was killed when a tree fell on his tent cabin during a windstorm.

Tuolumne Grove is known for its nearly 3 miles of trails through majestic forests and for a tunnel carved through one of its giant trees. Falling branch deaths are uncommon but not unheard-of.
