Grammy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has responded to K-pop supergroup BTS' decision to boycott the 2027 Grammy Awards over its new Asian Pop category.

BTS is opting out of the 2027 Grammys with luv. "We have decided not to submit for Grammy consideration this year," they wrote in a joint statement shared to all of their Instagram accounts July 29.

The news comes just over a month after the introduction of the Asian pop music performance category.
