Orioles pitcher Grayson Rodriguez received a cortisone shot in his elbow and will begin a throwing program after being shut down for 7-10 days.

Kittredge, who turns 35 on March 17, finalized a one-year, $10 million contract with Baltimore in January. The right-hander went 5-5 with a 2.80 ERA and one save in 74 relief appearances for St. Louis last year.

The O's are hardly the only AL East team dealing with injuries. The New York Yankees have lost Gerrit Cole ( elbow) and Giancarlo Stanton ( elbow) this spring, among others, and the Boston Red Sox will be without Wilyer Abreu (illness), Brayan Bello (shoulder), and Kutter Crawford (knee) to begin the season.
