Jesse Eisenberg, who says he reconnected with his family's Polish roots while filming A Real Pain, was granted Polish citizenship by President Andrzej Duda.

Jesse Eisenberg is officially a Polish citizen. The actor, writer and director was granted citizenship by President Andrzej Duda at a ceremony in New York on Tuesday night, just days after his film “A Real Pain” won Kieran Culkin an Oscar for best supporting actor.

"This is an honor of a lifetime and something I have been very interested in for two decades," said Eisenberg, who filmed the Oscar-winning film he wrote and directed in Poland
