According to Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington, former batting champion Tim Anderson is going to get some work in the outfield.

Anderson, a batting champ who played eight seasons with the team through 2023, signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Angels in January.

Chicago White Sox prospect Colson Montgomery is competing for a spot on the 26-man roster. The shortstop is embracing each opportunity this spring.

"There’s a lot of things for his development that he needs to focus on and that’s what we’re here in spring training to do," manager Will Venable said.

Montgomery is in his third big league camp, is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 39 prospect in baseball and has a legitimate chance to break camp as Chicago's starting shortstop, while Venable works amid his first Spring Training as White Sox manager.
