Jose Fonte has slammed Chelsea over their failure to sign ‘the next Didier Drogba’ Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window. The Blues have been heavily linked with the Nigeria international forward since the summer but didn’t bring him in before last night’s 11pm deadline.

Many have tried to fill the void left by Drogba in the decade since his departure, but the vast majority have failed, with Diego Costa arguably the closest to replacing the Ivorian after his three-year spell which saw him score 59 times.
