New Jersey state lawmakers say they have been briefed by security officials amid a joint federal and state investigation into weeks of unexplained drone sightings across the state that have prompted heightened security concerns from residents,

Authorities have yet to identify the origin of the unmanned vehicles, which have been spotted hovering in Jersey skies since November.

Gov. Phil Murphy says they pose no known threat, but Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew is calling for the drones to be shot down.
