Former Sen. Mitt Romney urged advisers to former President Joe Biden to pre-emptively pardon President Donald Trump to prevent politically based prosecutions.

While Romney became known during his Senate career as one of Trump's critics, he disclosed this week that he made a phone call to the Biden White House advocating a pardon for Trump.

Politicians across the aisle have criticized President Biden's decision to grant clemency to his son just weeks before leaving the White House — something he repeatedly promised he would not do.
