Two boys were rushed to hospitals on Wednesday after they were shot by a gunman on their rural school campus in Northern California. The authorities say the suspect had a history of crimes and mental illness.

Investigators on Thursday were trying to determine if a gunman was specifically targeting a tiny religious school in Northern California when he opened fire and critically wounded two kindergartners before killing himself.

The families of the kindergartners who were wounded during a shooting at Feather River Adventist School in Butte County are raising money to assist in the children’s medical expenses.

Two children were in “extremely critical condition” after being shot at a tiny religious K-8 school in Northern California and the gunman died at the scene, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.

One of the kindergartners shot last week at a Seventh-Day Adventist school in Northern California hasn't been able to move his legs, his grandmother wrote on Facebook.

Glenn Litton shot two kindergarteners earlier this month in an attack he claims was revenge for the Gaza "genocide." His 5-year-old victim may lose complete use of his legs, his family said.
