Canada has pledged additional support to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his fight against Russia, announcing new sanctions and billions in military aid during a bilateral meeting at the G7 summit in the Rocky Mountains.

According to the report, as part of Carney’s pledge to increase defense spending in 2025, the government has set aside CAD$2 billion ($1.5 billion) for security assistance to Ukraine and to bolster defense partnerships between the two countries.
