Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard is the recipient of the John Havlicek Trophy as the 2024-25 Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year for his contributions in a reserve role.

Payton Pritchard came off the bench and changed games for the Boston Celtics this season. He was the only player in the NBA with more than 1,000 points in games that he didn’t start. He set the league record for 3-pointers made by a backup.

Pritchard beat out fellow finalists Malik Beasley of the Detroit Pistons and Ty Jerome of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the award on Tuesday. Pritchard has been an ace off the bench for the Boston Celtics since entering the NBA in 2020.
