Oba Femi has won the gold. At WWE NXT New Year’s Evil, Trick Williams defended the NXT Championship against Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe. Before the match, Thorpe was attacked backstage. He did not enter alongside Williams and Femi,

Oba Femi captured the NXT Championship at NXT New Year's Evil, defeating Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a triple threat match. Oba kicked out of the first trick shot knee, and moved out of the way of a second one. Trick hit Thorpe with the trick shot, but Thorpe was holding a steel chair.

This week’s episode of NXT, the New Year’s Evil special, featured yet another angle where Eddy Thorpe was beat up and his status for the NXT championship match in doubt. Only this time he didn’t beat himself up.

The NXT Champion now has to worry about two men on January 7th as Trick Williams will defend his title against Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe.
