A Texan claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch lottery game, and someone won a $1 million prize from Powerball, according to the Texas Lottery. An Arlington resident bought the winning ticket for the $1,000,000 Crossword scratch game at QuickTrip, at 2051 FM 663 in Midlothian.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are astronomical, so any little chance of improving them is welcome. These states seem to have the mojo.

A new study revealed the U.S. states that have the highest chances of winning the Powerball — and sadly, none of the tri-state area was included in the top five.
