LONDON (AP) — South Africa won the World Test Championship against titleholder Australia by five wickets after knocking off the last 69 runs required on the fourth morning of the final on Saturday. The Proteas achieved their first major cricket title in 27 years, sparking celebrations at Lord’s.

In a historic victory, South Africa emerged the winner of the third ICC World Test Championship (WTC) by beating Australia by five wickets at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in London on June 14, 2025.

Hopefully, the superpowers of the game will no longer restrict there Test assignments against the Proteas to just two matches per series going ahead.
