A man has been arrested near the White House for setting an American flag on fire shortly after President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the Justice Department to prosecute acts of flag "desecration.

The arrested man identified himself as a combat veteran and said he was burning the American flag in protest of an executive order Trump signed Monday targeting flag burning.

President Donald Trump had a visibly black-and-blue bruise on his right hand as he met with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Monday in the Oval Office. The bruise comes after the president’s hand was covered with a noticeable splotch of makeup on Friday that did not match his skin tone and a different-black-and-blue on his other hand.
