Veteran first baseman Carlos Santana's third stint with the Cleveland Guardians appears to be ending after less than a year.

The Cleveland Guardians placed longtime first baseman Carlos Santana on outright waivers Tuesday, multiple outlets reported, likely ending the slugger's third go-round with the club.

The Guardians placed Carlos Santana on waivers, possibly signaling the end of his third stint with the club he broke in with.

The move to place Santana on waivers — which allows the 29 other big league clubs to claim him — comes as the Guardians have gone 1-9 over their last 10 games and have slipped to 12 1/2 games back of the first-place Tigers in the American League Central and six games back of a wild-card spot.

On the court, Alcaraz seemed unfazed by the added attention from his haircut. He needed just over two hours to see off the towering, big-serving Opelka in Arthur Ashe Stadium and kick off his pursuit of a sixth grand slam title and second at the US Open.
