CINCINNATI — The Bengals are hoping to sign Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson to long-term contracts in the near future. Ari Meirov shared the latest on negotiations and it doesn't sound like anything is imminent.

It’s possible that he may be a little confused by the Bengals using the franchise tag on Higgins when they’ve stated their hope of signing him to a long-term deal. A franchise tag can be a temporary placeholder before a long-term deal, but it can also just be a one-year contract.

While Ja'Marr Chase continues to negotiate an extension in Cincinnati, he wasn't pleased to see his teammate Tee Higgins receive the franchise tag.
