The Connecting the Dots Foundation, Inc. will host its annual Women’s History Month celebration on March 29 at the Jackson Convention Complex. The event, themed "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations," will recognize women who have made significant contributions in education, mentorship, and leadership.
Unfortunately, a few of those can be violent tornadoes, particularly in the South. On March 3, 1966, 59 years ago today, an F5 tornado tore a 202-mile long path across central and eastern Mississippi into western Alabama.

Multiple fire crews are monitoring a large wildfire in Southeast Jackson County, south of Highway 90 near the Mississippi Alabama state line. Crews with Jackson County Fire, Mississippi Forestry Commission and Sandhill Crane Wildlife Refuge Fire Team are out in the area monitoring the fire.
