SUNRISE, Fla. -- Spencer Knight made 34 saves for his second shutout of the season, and the Florida Panthers won 3-0 against the Anaheim Ducks at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. Jesper Boqvist, Anton Lundell, and Gustav Forsling scored for Florida (27-17-3), which has won two of three and visits Anaheim on Tuesday. Knight also had an assist.
Panthers goaltender Spencer Knight, who has been playing some excellent hockey of late, had just earned his second shutout of the season after making 34 saves against the Ducks. Eight of those 34 stops were on high danger shots. “He was unreal,” said Panthers center Anton Lundell. “He made some huge saves and kept us in the game.”
Sam Reinhart leads the Panthers in goals (27) and points (51), while Matthew Tkachuk is second in both points (40) and assists (26). Recently named the “Athlete of the Year” in his native Finland, captain Aleksander Barkov ranks third in points (38) and first in assists (27).
Knight will tend the twine on the road against the Devils on Tuesday, Rob Darragh of the Panthers ' official site reports.
