The NHL confirmed where the 2026 Winter Classic and Stadium Series will take place, revealing unthinkable locations and featuring the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.

The NHL officially announced that the state of Florida will be hosting two games in 2026. First, the 2026 Winter Classic will see the Florida Panthers host the New York Rangers at LoanDepot Park. Unlike the 2025 Winter Classic, which was played at Wrigley Field on New Year’s Eve, the 2026 Winter Classic will be played on January 2nd.

Every year since 2008, the NHL has played at least one game outdoors whether it be in the Winter Classic, Stadium Series or Heritage Classic. Almost every time these games are scheduled, they're scheduled for cold weather sites because, you know, if it's too warm the ice will melt. Melted ice isn't great conditions for a hockey game.
