Qatar Says Its Air Force Shot Down 2 Iranian Bomber Jets

March 2 (Reuters) - Qatar has intercepted Iranian attacks that targeted civilian infrastructure, including the international airport, the Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson told CNN on Monday, adding that such attacks could not remain unanswered. Majed Al Ansari also said that Qatar was not engaging with Iran at the moment.

Qatar’s Defense Ministry said an Iranian ballistic struck Al Udeid Air Base, without causing casualties. Qatar, in a statement late Tuesday, said one of two missiles launched from Iran got through air defense systems while the other was intercepted. The statement did not indicate what was damaged in the attack.
