At least three House members from border districts are celebrating passage of a bill enhancing penalties for individuals fleeing law enforcement at high speeds within 100 miles of Mexico or Canada.

Reps. Lou Correa and Morgan Luttrell are reintroducing legislation that would require DHS to study AI and other emerging technologies for border security.

The legislation would increase penalties for citizens and allow anyone who is not a citizen to be deported for evading arrest or detention while driving a vehicle within 100 miles of the border.
