The season’s first widespread winter storm is on its way to Connecticut, arriving on Tuesday. A Winter Storm Watch goes into effect Tuesday morning in northern Litchfield County, for the potential of several inches of snow.

Most of the tri-state area won’t see more than a dusting, though some in northern New Jersey and areas north of Westchester and Rockland counties in New York, could see 1-3 inches.

The Thanksgiving weekend storm system has brought over a foot of snow and strong winds to parts of the Midwest and thunderstorms across the South.

The NWS warned that travelers should consider delaying travel unless it's "absolutely necessary," with driving expected to be very difficult to impossible.
