The South Korean Ministry of Transport announced that it will release a preliminary report on the Jeju Air plane crash by Monday. The accident claimed the lives of 179 people, with two miraculously surviving.

South Korean investigators found feathers in both engines of the Boeing Co. 737-800 jet involved in a crash late last month, pointing to possible evidence that the aircraft may have lost electrical power before an ill-fated emergency landing that killed almost everyone on board.

Following the deadly Jeju Air accident, the government ordered low cost carriers to reduce flight times, boost pilot training and expand maintenance crews.

South Korea has extended the closure of the airport where a Jeju Air plane crashed last month until 19 January. A Boeing 737-800 ran off the runway and burst into flames after ramming an embankment at the Muan airport, killing all but two of the 181 people on board.
