A brush fire in East San Jose that sparked Tuesday and triggered evacuations into the evening was fully contained by late Wednesday morning.
Firefighters are battling a brush fire east of Santa Margarita. The fire was first reported at about 12:50 p.m. near the 5000 block of E. Pozo Road.
There were 153 personnel assigned to the fire near Lakeside, including 25 engines, seven crews and two helicopters, fire officials said.
Residents who were evacuated have been allowed to return home, except for eight addresses in the 3600 and 3700 blocks of Sierra Road, San Jose Fire Department said shortly after 9 p.m.
The fire was reported around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday near El Monte Rd in Lakeside in East San Diego County and quickly led to evacuations for nearby residents.
