Authorities have now confirmed a link between the suspect in the mass shooting at Brown University and the shocking murder of a prominent nuclear fusion professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

An unidentified gunman opened fire at a final exam review session at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, on Saturday afternoon, killing two students and wounding nine more. Then on Monday evening, MIT nuclear science professor Nuno Lourerio, 47, was shot dead in his $1.4 million townhouse in upscale Brookline, Massachusetts.

Nuno F. Loureiro, 47, was shot as his home in Brookline on Monday night. He was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.
