Warning: SPOILERS for the NCIS: Sydney episode “Lost in Translation” are ahead!
NCIS: Origins revealed more of the backstory of Special Agent Leroy Gibbs ( Austin Stowell) and NIS medical examiner Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard ( Adam Campbell) on tonight’s episode, and it was a surprise how much Gibbs’ friendship meant to Ducky and how little of it Gibbs remembered.
NCIS: Sydney Season 3 Episode 4, titled “The Truth Is Outback,” will air on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10/9c on CBS in the US.
But arguably the biggest reveal came with learning why Ducky talks to bodies, which we saw the late David McCallum did when he was playing him for so many years on NCIS. Origins co-showrunner Gina Lucita Monreal and Campbell opened up to CinemaBlend about telling this “difficult” story and more.
As NCIS: Origins moves forward, fans can expect emotional complexity, professional stakes, and romance that’s both teased and restrained. Gibbs’ journey isn’t just about love — it’s about the making of a leader, a partner, and an agent whose choices reverberate across the franchise.
NCIS Season 23 Episode 3 titled “The Sound and the Fury” was a Halloween-themed episode that brought back a familiar face from the NCIS Elite team.
Inside the Love Lives of the “NCIS: Sydney” Cast (Including 2 Stars in Relationships with Fellow Actors!) Todd Lasance and Bert LaBonté have both been with their partners for at least a decade The stars of NCIS: Sydney have reunited for season 3, which premiered on Oct. 14
However, that doesn’t mean the episode that just finished airing on the 2025 TV schedule was just your run-of-the-mill case of the week. “The Sound and the Fury” brought back NCIS Special Agent Dale Sayer for a spooky night case that ended with me wondering if there’s something deeper brewing between Nick Torres and Jessica Knight.
