It's Election Day 2025 in NYC, where all eyes are on the results of the mayoral race between Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa.

Early exit polls from CNN for four major races including the New York City mayoral race, the governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey, and the redistricting-related Proposition 50 in California, show that the majority of voters disapprove of President Donald Trump.

In a test of the appeal of MAGA politics in New York City, voters in northeastern Queens will choose between Vickie Paladino, the Republican incumbent who is an avid Trump supporter, and Benjamin Chou, a firefighter and Democrat.

The rise of Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, has fueled a wave of spending to oppose his candidacy and back the former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Mamdani is expected to win the election, according to the latest polls. Marist University's poll of 792 likely voters, conducted from October 24 to 28, had Mamdani up 16 points over his rival, Cuomo, at 48 percent to 32 percent. Sliwa was at 16 percent.

The contest features three leading candidates: Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat; former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat running as an independent; and Curtis Sliwa, a Republican. Read more
