As the nationwide postal strike hit the four-week mark Friday, federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon announced he's sending the labour dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, the four-week postal worker strike has cost Canada's SMBs $54 million per day.

The union representing Canada Post workers says an unfair labour practice complaint over the company's layoffs has been resolved, calling it an important victory for workers' rights.
