Reports surfaced earlier in 2025 that journalist Gayle King 's future with CBS might be uncertain after the Skydance Media and Paramount Global merger. Emmy Award-winning CBS News Texas (KTVT) Dallas-Fort Worth evening anchor Nicole Baker was a part of the recent layoffs at Paramount and is leaving the station after three and a half years, she announced Thursday, Oct. 30, on Facebook.

It would appear that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert isn’t the only program facing the chopping block at CBS. That’s because, as new leadership at CBS News takes over and notably following the Paramount Skydance merger, CBS Saturday Morning has reportedly facing major changes as the co-anchors have been let go.
Paramount began large scale layoffs Wednesday joining other major U.S. companies. The media conglomerate eliminated abut 1,000 U.S.-based jobs in its first round with at least another 1,000 to soon follow.
Layoffs have been expected since the industry-changing merger put CEO David Ellison in charge of the newly formed Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, in August.
