Thursday evening, the NBA announced the 14 reserve players that have been selected for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball was left off of the group of reserves,

NBA All-Star starters already announced last week, the seven reserves for each conference were revealed on Thursday night. Reminder, this year's All-Star Game is not a traditional format. It's four teams of eight (24 All-Stars split evenly and the winning team of the Rising Stars game) playing basically a bracketed tournament.

Even though the format of the game is a bit different, the voting method remains the same. The results to determine the starting lineup are once again calculated based on a weighted system from fan voting, media voting, as well as player voting.

LaMelo Ball is not an All-Star this year. He could theoretically get in as an injury replacement. The Charlotte Hornets guard is probably first or second (maybe Trae Young) in line for that. However,

Ball was the leading vote-getter among the NBA All-Star guards among fans. He led in fan votes with a total of 2,421,385. However, the Charlotte Hornets star lacked player and media votes, which resulted in him being snubbed from the starters.

The NBA All-Star have been selected, and it’s LeBron James and Steph Curry who are the headliners, but there are a handful of players who just missed out.
