Deepinder Goyal, CEO, Zomato has made this announcement on his official social media handle on X by posting the formal announcement letter.

Zomato rebrands as "Eternal" to encompass major businesses, including Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, signaling strategic growth shift.

Eternal Ltd. will be the new name of food delivery application Zomato, said CEO Deepinder Goyal on Thursday in a letter to shareholders. However, he clarified that the food delivery brand will continue to be identified as Zomato.

The change of name is subject to the approval of shareholders, the corporate affairs ministry, and other statutory authorities

CEO Goyal in a letter to shareholders said that his team started referring to Zomato as 'Eternal' after acquiring it. "Zomato is an accidental company. It was born out of a simple desire to serve, and over time, it became a business. And the journey has been nothing short of extraordinary," excerpts from his letter read.

The decision to rename Zomato Ltd. to Eternal Ltd. stems from the company's broader vision of building an enduring institution that lasts beyond its current leadership. "We shape our institutions, and then they shape us," he said, emphasizing that Eternal is more than just a name change--it represents a mission statement.
