MediaTek’s new 5G modem promises faster speeds, smarter connectivity, and satellite support for off-grid coverage.

MediaTek announced its upcoming M90 5G-Advanced cellular modem for phones. The modem leverages MediaTek's AI models to identify traffic patterns to "optimize power consumption and latency" and more. MediaTek states the M90 offers a downlink performance of 12Gbps and boosts its uplink capabilities by 20%.

MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X chipsets have been announced by the brand with a mere 0.1 Ghz performance upgrade over last year’s Dimensity 7300 processors. While both 7400 and 7400X are essentially the same chips, the latter is made for foldables with dual-display support.
