KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Winter weather has arrived in East Tennessee, with photos capturing flurries of snow that is expected to mix with sleet and freezing rain later in the day. Storm Team 6 is tracking the winter storm as it moves across the region.

Winter weather is possible for some areas across the southeast, and the First Alert Weather Team is following any potential for snow closely.

Following the winter storm, temperatures in East Tennessee will remain freezing. A strong cold front will usher in arctic-like air into the region with wind chills dropping to 3 to 8 degrees above zero across much of the region, according to the National Weather Service's Jan. 24 report.

People across the Tennessee Valley experienced ice and snow as the winter weather has been passing through. Some of our viewers have captured photos and videos of ice frozen on trees and roads, and a few even got a dusting of snow.
