Mount Nyiragongo (/ ˌnɪərəˈɡɒŋɡoʊ, - ˈɡɔːŋ -/ neer-ə-GONG-go) is an active stratovolcano with an elevation of 3,470 m (11,385 ft) [1] in the Virunga Mountains associated with the Albertine Rift.
